Euclid's Elements

About this edition

The English text is Richard Fitzpatrick's translation of Euclid's Elements. This translation is not, as far as I can tell, released under an open license, and is used here without express permission.
The diagrams are modified from Ibrahim Sagiroglu's reconstruction. This reconstruction was released under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license.
New material in the present edition is also released under this license. This license does not extend to Fitzpatrick's translation or his diagrams.
- I modified Sagiroglu's diagram parser to match the styling of rvmark.
- A number of diagrams were made into interactive widgets with draggable points.
  
  I converted these into Geogebra files with the assistance of generative AI (Anthropic Claude).
  
  These Geogebra files are read into JSXGraph by a custom reader and then displayed using a custom SVG frontend.
  
  This achieves a minimalist frontend that matches rvmark's general design philosophy.
The frontispiece engraving is taken from a 1702 Dutch-language publication of the Elements translated by Hendrik Coets.
